Narellan’s new netball courts will soon be filled with players ready to call the new sports hub home.
Camden Council have now completed the first stage of the Narellan Sports Hub which includes 30 high-quality netball courts and an expansive amenities building.
Netballers will take to the courts for the first time on Wednesday, October 11.
The $11 million dollar development also features floodlighting, approximately 1000 car parking spaces and a playground.
Camden mayor Lara Symkowiak wrote in her address to Camden Council that she was pleased council was able to use savings from the construction of its administration building for this project.
She thanked council staff for the work on the project.
“I would also like to thank the Camden Netball Association for their input into the project,” Cr Symkowiak said.
“This was truly a collaborative effort between Camden Council and the Camden Netball Association.
“This new complex is positioned near existing sports grounds and will be extended in a number of stages to include other facilities to cater for a variety of sports and additional informal recreational opportunities, making this a comprehensive sporting venue that the whole community can enjoy.”
Future stages of the sports hub will include athletics facilities, additional netball courts and a multipurpose sports ground.
