One of Camden’s most notorious intersections is set for a much-needed upgrade.

The intersection of Camden Valley Way, Grahams Hill Road and Richardson Road at Narellan will be upgraded with a $3.5 million funding grant as part of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan. Camden mayor Lara Symkowiak said the upgrade was vital.

“I use that intersection every day and I know there is a need for an upgrade,” she said. “It will be a relief when it’s complete – the intersection is dangerous.”

Cr Symkowiak said the works would include widening both Camden Valley Way and Graham Hill Road, adjusting right-turn bays and improving the traffic lights.

She said the process was complex and included the acquisition of land, but the upgrades were expected to be completed by the end of next year.
