THE Group 6 rugby league finals provided some high-scoring fixtures in the first grade competition at Kirkham Park on Sunday.
Camden Rams faced a close call as they overcame the Picton Magpies in a tight 21-20 win in the qualifying semi-final. Camden made the early run with two tries from Nick Crouch and Alex Canham before the break to lead 8-0.
Picton scrambled a try on half-time to bring the scores to 8-4.
After the break, Picton grew into the game as Donny Thompson, Rory Vale and Mataika Vatuvei were all on the score sheet.
Camden's Chris Browne and Ben Weir setup a late finish to make the score 20-20 after regular time.
Browne kicked a 40-metre field goal to give Camden the 21-20 win and setup their meeting with Mittagong this weekend.
In the elimination semi-final, the Narellan Jets stormed through the tie as they defeated the Appin Dogs 40-28.
Appin took the game to the Jets in the first half with points from Glynn Bester and Jay O'Mullane to establish an 18-12 lead.
An injury to Jets fullback Ben Baker provided a blow to his side as he suffered a dislocated shoulder before half-time and was later taken to hospital.
The comeback began in the second half as Warra Hanita-Paki, Jamie Milo, Rhyse Lenarduzzi and Guy Thompson made the most of Appin playing with 12 players on the field for large periods to get a well-earned win.
The Jets play Picton this weekend.
