Camden Council has appointed a new general manager, Ron Moore.
Mr Moore will replace former general manager Greg Wright who was controversially sacked last November.
Mr Moore has been employed as general manager at Blacktown Council for the past eight years having held a number of senior positions within Blacktown Council since 1990.
During this time Mr Moore has successfully managed Blacktown’s rapid urban growth as well as organisational change and expansion.
Camden mayor of Camden Lara Symkowiak said she and the councillors were happy and confident in their unanimous decision to appointment Mr Moore.
“Ron is very well regarded within the local government industry and is a highly qualified and experienced manager who will provide strong guidance and leadership to Camden Council and the community,’’ she said.
‘‘Ron is currently head of the largest council in NSW which services over 310,000 people and manages a staff in excess of 1600 employees.
‘‘As Camden continues to grow, Ron’s proven track record of successfully leading a large and growing organisation will be invaluable to Camden.’’
Nicole Magurren, who has been acting general manager since December 2012, will return to her position as Environment and Health director when Mr Moore commences his employment with Camden Council on May 6.
