Trade Assistant

2XM Recruit are seeking an experienced Trade Assistant to join our clients team. This role is looking for people to start immediately and to hit the ground running, people with a positive attitude. The successful candidate needs to have workshop experience and a good understanding of safety polices and procedures.

The Role
You will be responsible for assisting the Mechanical Fitters with overhauls, repairs and modifications to their customers mechanical, pneumatic and electro-pneumatic air brake equipment along with other related equipment.

We are looking for someone to perform the following duties in a team environment

• Cleaning and surface preparation of mechanical components
• Assist trades staff moving mechanical components through stages of production workflow
• Operate forklift and/or Overhead crane as required
• Assist trades staff performing basic mechanical tasks

To be considered for the position of Trades Assistant you will require:

• Ability to operate within a busy workshop
• Previous experience assisting Tradespeople
• Mechanically minded
• Strong work ethics & willingness to learn and take on extra duties
• Excellent time keeping
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Positive attitude
• Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Current forklift licence (must have)
• Current Gantry Crane licence (desirable)
