About the role
Protech SA currently has a requirement for a Safety Officer for work with one of Australia's largest providers of Civil Construction and Demolition services in Port Pire working Monday - Friday. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and experienced Safety Officer to become part of a high performing Safety team. Relocation assistance would be negotiable for the right candidate with plenty of career opportunities available within the nationally growing company.
Key Duties
- Report directly to a high-performing Safety Manager/Project Manager
- Responsible for driving and leading a strong safety culture on site
- Conduct site inductions from time to time to project team, trades or contractors
- Attend project sites to ensure safety compliance and performance is being managed
- Advise Project, Site and Contractors relating to safety matters
- Respond to incidents and emergencies, including investigations, reporting and escalation
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate IV in WHS required
- White Card
- First Aid certified
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a site WHSEQ role
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of legislative, regulatory and standard requirements including the Australian Building and Construction Commission, Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner
- A proactive approach, able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to positive influence the evolution of safety culture
- Collaborative communication skills and ability to consult and influence in construction environment
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Ability to prioritise conflicting tasks, and be able to adapt to daily changes
- Be able to pass a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen
