Looking for a great Christmas gift but coming up empty?
Four businesses in Camden have got you covered.
In a bid to combat the droves of shoppers heading to the newly extended Narellan Town Centre, the owners of Mind Over Manor, Epicure Store, About Face and R Coffee have launched an exciting retail initiative.
The business-owners have created the 2570 gift card, which can be used in any or all of the four stores.
Mind Over Manor director Hayley Priest said she had heard of similar gift cards being introduced by chambers of commerce in other areas, and thought the idea would work in Camden.
“I know a lot of Camden businesses have felt the sting of the Town Centre,,” she said. “But this is a way to keep people here and give them a card they can use to grab a coffee, pick up some some food at Epicure, get their hair done and grab something from my store.
“It’s a closed loop, it’s businesses working together.”
The gift cards launch today (Wednesday, November 6) and can be purchased at any of the stores.
“What happens is someone buys the card, we immediately refund the money onto the card and then it can be spent at whichever store,” Ms Priest said. “Someone might spend it all in one, or a little bit in each.
“It’s entirely up to them.”
Ms Priest said it was a great stocking stuffer heading into the festive season.
“It’s the perfect gift for Christmas,” she said. “It will help keep people in Camden during the holiday period, which is what we want.”
The card will be available year round. Ms Priest expects the gift cards will be a success and quickly cover the cost of their implementation.
