The 2018 New South Wales Women of the Year Awards, which formally celebrate inspirational women for their accomplishments and contributions, are now open for nominations.
Now in their seventh year, the NSW Women of the Year Awards recognise the outstanding contributions made by women across the state to industry, communities and broader society.
There are seven state-wide nomination categories:
NSW Premier’s Woman of the Year
NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year
Community Hero
Harvey Norman Young Woman of the Year
Rex Airlines Regional Woman of the Year
NSW Business Woman of the Year
First State Super Lifetime Achievement
Oatley MP Mark Coure said it is also a time to celebrate outstanding local achievers.
Submissions should nominate women who excel in business; are inspiring role models; demonstrate excellence in their career; contribute significantly to the community; or are young leaders in changing social and business landscapes for women.
Mr Coure is encouraging residents to think of a woman they can nominate.
The former three Local Women of the Year Awards for Oatley were presented to Mrs Rene Demos in 2015, Mrs Christine Clausen in 2016 and Mrs Nahed Soliman in 2017.
“These awards are of the upmost importance as many local women in the St George area work tirelessly to contribute to bettering our community culture, often without any formal recognition or praise”, Mr Coure said.
“These awards offer an opportunity to recognise the dedication and commitment of women in whatever sphere of life they excel in and applaud them for their service.”
The 2018 NSW Women of the Year recipients will be presented their award at a ceremony in Sydney on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2018.
Nominations close at 11:59pm on December 18, 2017.
Anyone wishing to submit an entry to nominate a woman for one of the above seven categories should visit http://e-award.com.au/2018/womenoftheyear/index.php.
