One of Camden’s most notorious intersections is about to get an upgrade.
Traffic lights will be installed at the Camden Valley Way and Macarthur Road intersection in Elderslie.
Camden councillors are likely to support a tender from Burton Contractors to upgrade the intersection for just over $4 million.
Council staff recommended the tender be accepted due to“increased traffic associated with urban growth” and the number of serious accidents at the intersection resulting in injuries.
The designs for the new intersection were completed by council staff in consultation with Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
The project is being funded through developer contributions and the federal government.
If approved, the works are expected to be complete by December 2018.
