Local audiences in for a frighteningly good time

Frightnight is all together spooky, a little bit kooky and now it calls Macarthur home.

The comedy music show has made the move to Wests League Club at Leumeah from its original location in Liverpool.

Manager Mike Munro said Macarthur residents made up the majority of the show’s audience.

He said the move to Leumeah would also give the show a new lease on life.

“With the original management deciding to close the show after leasing issues, except for a short run of shows in Cabramatta and Yagoona, my co-manager Shane and I saw the opportunity to bring Frightnight back to its former glory,” he said.

“Wests were very accommodating to the idea of having something like Frightnight boost visitors to their tennis club.

“Even if we didn’t have Wests as a location, we would still have looked for a venue in the Macarthur as that’s where a lot of our customers were coming from.”

Frightnight has been operating for 18 years now.

The four-hour live show features cheeky comedy, dancing, singing and acting.

Frightnight’s talented team of actors bring zany characters life with a spooky edge reminiscent of the Rock Horror Picture Show.

The show also brings audiences into the action through a range of games and participation segments.

Although the growing region poses new challenges for Frightnight, Mr Munro said he was looking forward to seeing what the new shows at Wests League Club would bring.

“I am looking forward to seeing a lot of old faces and hopefully some new ones,” he said.

“Being closer to our main fan base has been a change a lot of our customers have welcomed.”

Frightnight also host hens and bucks nights, birthdays, work events, Christmas parties and anniversaries.

The next show will take place on Saturday, September 30.

Tickets are $35 each (except for December which is $45).
