Mt Annan Leisure Centre swimming pools reopened

Local swimmers can now jump back into the updated pools at Mt Annan Leisure Centre.

The aquatic facilities have reopened to the public after some maintenance works.

Acting mayor Theresa Fedeli said the works were part of a broader commitment of council to provide high quality recreational facilities and support the community to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

“Renewing the pool and the amenities will make this a lovely place for people to exercise during the cooler months and year round,” she said.

The improvement works included installing new pumps for the filtration system and renovating the change rooms to include new showers, taps, sinks, floor and wall tiling, seating and cubicle doors.

The water temperature is now at its optimum levels of 28 degrees.

The aquatic facilities include an eight lane, 25 metre pool, a 15 metre recreation pool, leisure pool, spa, sauna, steam room and waterslide.

Work continues on the $14 million leisure centre upgrade and expansion with the construction of new amenities, multipurpose sports hall, the expansion of the child care facilities, additional car parking and upgrades to the entry foyer, kiosk and change rooms are all well on track.
