Forget the Logies – the Camden Wollondilly Business Awards is the night of nights for local businesses.
Now in its 26th year, the business awards provide an opportunity for community members to recognise their favourite local businesses.
The awards were started by Precedent Productions managing director Steve Loe in 1985 to recognise the efforts of businesses and staff.
“My parents were businesspeople and I saw first-hand how hard they worked,” he said. “I always thought that they and other business people deserved to be rewarded in public for their hard work and dedication just as much as any actor who receives a Logie.”
Customers nominate and vote for businesses in industry categories, with the winners then eligible to be chosen as the overall Business of the Year.
Alistair Robertson, owner of 32 Degrees Building was thrilled to take out the Outstanding Service and Trade category in his first year at the awards and was “overwhelmed” to follow up with Business of the Year in 2016.
He encouraged other businesspeople to take part in the Local Business Awards.
“It is such an honour to receive an award that is focused on awarding local businesses,” he said.
Everyone who nominates a business at thebusinessawards.com.au can win a GoPro Hero5 Black.
Nominations close on Wednesday, May 10 and winners are announced on Wednesday, July 5 at Bargo Sports Club.
