Shoppers will be treated to more than 10 new casual dining options when Macarthur Square opens the doors on its newly redeveloped centre next month.

Quality take-away food was the prime directive from the shopping centre, to cater for people stopping by for a quick lunch.

Joining the rest of the Macarthur Square family will be Fogo Brazilia, Inlakesh Living Foods, Leaf Cafe, Cha Time, Sugar By Coffee Gossip, The Shed, Nathan’s Famous, Hokka Hokka, Roll’d, Sahara Grill and Sushia.

Gary Horwitz – head of retail for Lendlease, which owns Macarthur Square – said the eating options reflected the change in the way people eat.

“People want to eat out more frequently and have greater access to food options and restaurant-style dining experiences,” he said.

“With less time or desire to cook at home, working families are spending more quality ‘family time’ eating out.

“Another important trend is the dining environment with food retailers designing sustainable, bespoke fit-outs that create spaces people want to be in and alter the overall feel and atmosphere of the shopping centres.”

The new stores will be concentrated in the west mall of the shopping centre and will complement the popular outdoor restaurants at Kellicar Lane, food court and others scattered throughout the centre.

The redeveloped centre will open on Thursday, March 9.
