Revheads will roll into Canberra in January for the 30th annual Street Machine Summernats.
Each year more than 100,000 car lovers make their way to the four-day festival.
The event will be held from January 5 to January 8.
Festival co-owner Andy Lopez said organisers were planning “a four-day party on a scale never seen before”.
“Summernats is a real Aussie institution, and we reckon everyone in our scene is totally pumped to be celebrating the 30th,” he said.
“We can’t wait to celebrate the big birthday with our car loving mates from all over Australia.”
More than 2,000 cars have already entered.
The City Cruise kicks of the celebrations on Thursday followed by event highlights, such as the Summernats Burnout Masters, the Horsepower Heroes dyno comp, the Go to Whoa, Grass Driving Events, cruising on Tuff Street, Miss Summernats and a huge music line-up.
The prestigious Street Machine Summernats Grand Champion award winner will also be crowned at the event.
International attention for the event continues to grow, with special guests at Summernats 30 including stars of the Discovery Channel’s hit TV show, Street Outlaws. Hosts ‘Azn’ and ‘Farmtruck’ will head out for their first Nats’ experience. They’re joined by the team from 1320Video, arguably the largest online racing video channel in the world, to take the message of this fantastic Aussie car culture to the world.
As the sun goes down each night and the roar of the engines subside, music of a different kind will take over. This year the concert line-up includes Aussie urban superstars Drapht and Spit Syndicate on Friday, and Aussie rockers Airbourne and Thirsty Merc set to rock the Summernats stage on Saturday night.
Australia’s biggest horsepower party, the Street Machine Summernats is proudly supported by Rare Spares, and should be your destination come January 5 - 8, 2017. Tickets and more information is available at http://www.summernats.com.au
