Installation of a surveillance camera designed to monitor traffic conditions on Narellan Road at Campbelltown will begin next Monday.

The camera will be installed at the intersection of Apprin Road and Oxley Street between September 26 and October 17, from 8pm-5am.

The camera is part of the NSW Government’s $300 million Urban Roads Pinch Point program, aiming to reduce traffic delays and manage congestion.

A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said, after consultation with the community, the decision was made to install the camera on an existing traffic light post.

“For the safety of motorists and workers, changed traffic conditions will be in place during night work, including temporary lane closure,” the spokesperson said.

“Motorists should follow the directions of traffic controllers and allow extra travel time.”
