Sydney’s best junior hockey players showed off their skills during Hockey NSW's development camps at the Macarthur Regional Hockey Complex on February 6-7.
Over 200 players from the South West, Southern and Northern Sydney hockey associations were guided by expert coaches through skill exercises and match scenarios.
The under-15s were put to the test on Saturday and the under-13s took to the fields on Sunday.
A Metropolitan South West Hockey Association spokeswoman said the camps gave players a chance to gain tips to excel on the field.
“The camps allows a lot of kids who could become future Hockeyroos [a chance to develop],” she said.
Nicole King, Hockey NSW regional coach coordinator for South West Sydney, said the camps created the perfect environment for players to reflect on their skills.
“I hope the players learnt some new skills and how they can improve their hockey,” she said.
The association spokeswoman praised the work by volunteers who offered advice to players and helped the camps run smoothly.
