IN a historic opening round for Camden Rugby Club, the boys from Wire Lane kept their opponents scoreless, winning in all three grades.
The last time Camden achieved this feat was several seasons ago.
The first grade team were the big winners as they ran rampant, winning 70-0 against Bowral.
Second grade beat Bowral 53-0 and third grade won 19-0 against Bundanoon.
Co-coaches Alasdair Le Good and Andrew Suffell were delighted to see their team piling on the points.
Suffell said plans were put in place last year to ensure the Rams would be competitive this season.
``With second grade's grand final win as the turning of the corner for the club and with the arrival of a group of talented new players, there is now a great winning culture starting to return to the club,'' Suffell said.
``The results from the weekend show the sheer talent and depth throughout the club; it looks very promising for a very successful 2010.
``If you want to enjoy watching running rugby with great tries being scored, bring a rug down to a match one Saturday afternoon and you won't be disappointed.''
The Rams' new-look outfit couldn't have started any better against Bowral, scoring a length-of-the-field try straight from the kick-off.
Tries went to captain Andy Vernon (2), Glen Whitney, Ethan Whittington (3), Josh Tailby, Willy Ahsam, Tyler Aitken (2) and Mark Morris.
Best on ground in first grade were fly-half Josh Tailby, Willy Ahsam and fullback Jake Sadler.
Camden will have a break over Easter but will face a much tougher opposition in their next game when they take on Wollondilly White Waratahs and their new coach, former Wallaby Tony Daly.
The local derby will be played at Camden Rugby Club on April 10 with first grade starting at 3pm.
