Macarthur Saints juniors will turn 30

10 Mar, 2010 03:00 AM
MACARTHUR Saints Junior Rugby League Football Club will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year with a dinner at Campbelltown Catholic Club.

The club was formed in 1981 as St Thomas More Junior Rugby League Football Club with four teams and no ground to play on.

They were given the bottom field at Worrell Park to use as their home ground, lent gear for home games and their canteen for a long time was a caravan.

In 1988, they were renamed Macarthur Saints and the club moved to Thomas Acres Reserve with nine teams.

Last year, the club had 21 teams and 340 players.

The anniversary dinner will be held on Saturday, July 10, 7pm at Campbelltown Catholic Club and will feature comedian Kenny Graham.

The cost is $60 per head and is for those over 18 years.

The club needs players for this season.
