Harrington Park gain Hindmarsh Shield victory

04 Nov, 2009 11:53 AM
THE Harrington Park under-10 rugby league team defeated Mittagong 64-0 to win the Hindmarsh Shield earlier this year and received their Wests Knockout shield last month.

The team were undefeated in the Wests knock out, Group 6 Razorback knock out and the Group 6 Champions Challenge.

Coached by Wayne McNeice and supervised by Harrington Park teacher Paul Bush, this was the team's first serious venture in junior rugby league.

``This is the first time we've gone into junior rugby league,'' Bush said.

``For them to put a team together and then be undefeated in all these games and have such success is tremendous.

``We were only two wins away from being the best team in NSW.''

I'm so proud of this team because my grandson plays for the team.
