FOR 40 years the Formula Ford category has enjoyed a rich history with Oran Park Raceway.
On Saturday and Sunday fans of the category farewell the circuit forever with the running of the sixth and final round of the NSW Formula Ford 1600 Championship.
``Formula Ford and Oran Park Raceway go hand in hand, as over the years you can think back to some classic races and a lot of them have taken place at Oran Park,'' said Jeff Senior from the NSW Formula Ford 1600 Association.
``You only have to look over the entry list for the weekend to see what ``There are a few of them that are bringing out their cars for the first time in 10 years just so that they
can compete at Oran Park one last time.''
Heading into the final round of the NSW Championship Leigh Burges has wrapped up the point standings battle after winning the fifth round last month at Wakefield Park Raceway.
Oran Park marketing manager Fred Tsioras said there was plenty for motor-racing fans to enthuse about in the coming weeks.
Other Oran Park events include the Supernats on Sunday, November 8, and the big Six-Hour event on November 21 and 22.
