A FIELD of almost 120 golfers contested the Camden Golf Club Invitational Pro-Am event last week at the Studley Park layout.
The starters included 31 professionals attempting to tame the course, but Brad Fasher, from Castle Hill, shot a brilliant course record-equalling 66 to take the title.
The day started at 8am with Holden Young Lions conducting a golfing clinic, followed by breakfast and a long driving contest for the pros.
The club's general manager, Phillip Cleaton, said the course tested golf skills.
``As usual, the course proved a challenge for the professionals with only five players breaking par on the day,'' Cleaton said.
Following Fasher's score came Daniel Newton on 67, Damon Welsford on 68, Neil Spiers on 69 and Max Forrest on 70.
Fasher praised the course conditions during the presentation, describing them as being in ``as good condition as any I had played on in the Von Nida Tour''.
``The annual Pro-Am is one of the premier events in Camden Golf Club's calendar and this year was well supported by the professionals, sponsors and members.''
