Eleven players from previous clinics returned for Step 4 Event and 3 Beginner.

The three-day clinic was for girls aged eight to 14.

They were taught skills for golf on the driving range and putting green and enjoyed playing a few holes each day.

Sam Wigan, the club's director of golf, said he was pleased to see the young golfers showing such a keen interest in the sport.

"The girls had a great time and the improvement was very noticeable," he said.

Penny Kelly, one of the organisers, says the Lakeside ladies now had a core group of keen girls to work with. The club is eager to keep the momentum going.
