It's a primary mission to be cool after school

ABOUT 700 boys took part in Thursday's Be Cool, Not Cruel gala day at Onslow Oval, Camden.

The big event was part of the Australian Sports Commission's Active After-school Communities program.

Schoolboys from Camden, Picton and Liverpool participated in a variety of fun, safe and inclusive physical activities to highlight the importance of co-operative play.

The gala day aimed to emphasise tolerance and anti-bullying behaviour. Special guests for the program launch were Eels players Krisnan Inu, Brendan Oake and Taulima Tautai.

The rugby league players proved to be a hit as they signed autographs and encouraged the boys to enjoy themselves in sport.

The program provides primary school children with a fun, free and safe introduction to more than 70 sports and 20 structured physical activities.

The big day ended with all 700 boys dancing to the song Kung Fu Fighting.
