CAMDEN'S Emily Hurtz has been named in the Hockeyroos squad for the Samsung Women's Hockey Champions Trophy.
A former Campbelltown City Women's Hockey Association player, Hurtz made her Hockeyroos debut in South Africa during the recent Spar Cup, in which Australia played against South Africa, Argentina and India.
The 19-year-old featured in the final against world number two team Argentina when she scored one of Australia's goals for their 3-1 victory.
Hurtz said she was looking forward to her next big test against the world's best women's hockey teams.
She said the Spar Cup games were a good introduction to world-class hockey.
``The standard is going to be really high, but having played a few games in the team now it has given me more confidence at that level,'' she said.
The Hockeyroos are preparing for games against Germany in Perth, in preparation for the Champions Trophy tournament which starts on July 11.
