CAMPBELLTOWN might host World Cup soccer if Australia is successful in the bid to host the 2018 or 2022 FIFA tournaments.
Campbelltown is at the forefront to gain a proposed, new 40,000-seat stadium.
The stadium would be Australia's fourth venue to host World Cup games along with Sydney Football Stadium, ANZ Stadium and Energy Australia Stadium, Newcastle. Football Federation Australia and Events NSW have not decided where the stadium will be built.
