Mayor Chris Patterson, no newcomer to the World's Greatest Shave, was one sporting the new hairdo last Friday. He said he was happy to shave his head for such a good cause.
Cr Patterson said his family was supportive, but joked that his children had asked their mother to drive them to school on Monday.
Last Friday, Carrington Centennial Care personal care assistant Kristy Hodalj raised $1102 in a generous wish to give something back to the community after her brother had leukaemia when he was a child.
Camden Nursing Home assistant in nursing Gloria Gordon raised $1300, Mount Annan Christian College vice-captain Tim Roberts netted $420 in one week, and Scott Tye and the crew from Southwell Agricultural Sales & Irrigation raised $1235.
Camden High School vice-captain Lucy Chetcuti also battled the shaver last week, as part of the Wollondilly Community: We Are One! team.
Team leader Sharon Robertson said the community could still sponsor the group, which included Cr Patterson and Lucy and was nowranked eighth in NSW, at http://my.imisfriendraising.com.a u/TeamPage.aspx?teamID=40838&lang Pref=en-CA.
