JET-SETTING Julie Warner has been to over 80 countries, more than most people will visit over a lifetime.

But what's even more surprising is that her seven year old daughter Chelsea and five year old son Aidan and their teddy bears have also been to 12 countries.

``I'm amazed when people say to me `You're not taking your kids are you?''' Mrs Warner said.

``But it doesn't faze us, we try to go on holidays every second year and we never really let it hold us back.''

The Warners even made a five week trip before her son was two, visiting Thailand, Cambodia, the United Kingdom, Italy and China.

Mrs Warner, an independent travel broker, is writing a book about the trip.

``They were fascinated by everything and asking so many questions about the terracotta warriors in China. Explaining the history of some of the world's most important sites helps them to realise how lucky and fortunate we are here in Australia,'' she said.

Mrs Warner said she hoped the worldly experience will benefit her son, who will attend Sherwood Ridge Public School next year.

``There are 46 different languages spoken within the school,'' Mrs Warner said.

``My daughter [in year 2] has seen so many different cultures that she interacts and accepts everybody and treats them all the same.''

Mrs Warner said she and her husband choose not to limit their family holiday to `kid friendly' activities or hotels but instead vary the levels of intensity of their trip.

``People get so worried about their kids eating food which will make them sick and it all seems so hard. They can't get their head around the possibility that things will be ok,'' she said.

``But in Asian countries and places like Italy, the Medditerranean and Greece life is very family orientated and eating out with children everywhere is the done thing.''

Mrs Warner advises that parents should have activities prepared for the plane flight for when their children are tired and and hungry, and be strict with the time when they expect their children to sleep.
