THREE names have been circulating as possible Labor preselection contenders for the federal seat of Macarthur but none of them have been officially approached by the party.
Campbelltown pediatrician Michael Freelander, Camden deputy mayor Greg Warren and wheelchair athlete Paul Nunnari are all rumoured to be potential candidates for the seat.
If they decide to stand for preselection, they will be up against confirmed contender Nick Bleasdale.
Cr Warren said he had not pursued the seat and had not been approached.
``I never rule anything out though. I'll do what is in the best interest of my community because I enjoy being a member of my local branch and dealing with local issues.''
Mr Nunnari said he would consider the position if he was asked but was content with his current role as Campbelltown MP Graham West's adviser.
``Nothing will be finalised until the boundaries are finalised,'' he said.
Dr Freelander said that if he was approached he would have to discuss the position with his family before he accepted the role. ``My youngest daughter will be in year 11 next year and she needs a lot of support,'' he said. ``Otherwise I have always been interested in politics.''
The contender will go to the polls against MP Pat Farmer or former Campbelltown mayor Russell Matheson, who are both confirmed Liberal preselection nominees.
