CAMDEN MP Geoff Corrigan has urged Education Minister Verity Firth to visit Macarthur Preschool before determining a development plan that could remove the school's limited parking.
Mr Corrigan has also asked Planning Minister Kristina Keneally to visit the site, on Lawson Avenue, where the Education Department wants to develop 48 homes.
The community-based school's committee has asked Ms Firth to see for herself how the plan will remove almost all street parking the school's 40 families share.
Committee president Sue Lane said she hoped Ms Firth would adopt Camden Council's suggestion and change the proposed estate's boundary to give the school 10 parking spaces.
``Ten spaces will bring us in line with other childcare centres and it would be great if we could have that buffer between the new houses,'' she said.
Last week NSW upper house MP Charlie Lynn pulled Lands Minister Tony Kelly into the debate when he asked Mr Kelly in State Parliament if he was aware of the problem and if Mr Kelly would intervene.
Mr Kelly's spokeswoman said on Monday that his office had referred the problem back to the Education Department.
Ms Firth's office could not confirm before we went to press whether she would visit.
Opposition community services spokeswoman Pru Goward visited the school last month and also urged Ms Firth to visit.
