Ray Martin has interviewed princes and princesses, prime ministers and showbiz stars but only one man threatened to bring the television journalist unstuck.
Martin says his 1996 interview with cricketing great Sir Donald Bradman was ``the trickiest I ever did. I knew I had to get every detail correct,'' Martin said of Bradman's ``impeccable memory''.
Of the more than 10,000 interviews he conducted over his 40 year career, Martin said he had never been more nervous than when he interviewed Bradman.
``I kept pinching myself. I was in the presence of a god, a really wonderful character,'' he told the Advertiser ahead of his visit to Camden Civic Centre next Wednesday, November 11.
The five-time Gold Logie winner will talk about his autobiography Ray: Stories of My Life in which he reveals the turbulence of his early years.
Tickets are still available to hear Ray Martin at the Camden Civic Centre. Cost $20 includes light lunch and refreshments. Bookings: 4645 5039.
