Popular 'ghost hunter' dies

29 May, 2009 04:39 PM
Liz Vincent, a local historian and leader of ghost tours in Picton and Camden, has lost her battle with cancer.

Mrs Vincent was diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2008 and died yesterday at Camden Hospital, two days after her 62nd birthday.

Her husband John said the family had had time to prepare but of course, were not ready to say goodbye.

Mrs Vincent was a foundation member of the Picton and District Historical and Family History Society with Marlane Fairfax.

The funeral will be held at the Wollondilly Shire Hall in Picton next Thursday at 10am.

Mrs Vincent wrote her own eulogy which will be read by her son Steven.

The Vincent family and community of Picton are poorer for the loss of a wonderful lady. To lose someone so vibrant is an awful thing to happen. My thoughts are with John and his family at this very sad time.
