CAMDEN South Public School will be looking for a trifecta next year after taking out a NAIDOC Week competition for the second year in a row.
Year 6 student Dylan Callingham beat about 92,000 writers from years 3-6 with his poem about respect.
Principal Glen Patterson said there were a huge number of entries in the competition organised by not-for-profit community organisation Koori Kids.
``For him to be deemed the winner is an absolutely wonderful result,'' he said.
``It's just a wonderful effort and his family will be extremely happy as is the school.''
Forget Paris poets are flooding out from Camden South as Wade Franzman took out the award last year for his piece on Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's apology.
NAIDOC Week School Initiatives executive director Dylan Williams said the competition was held each year to promote NAIDOC Week the first week in July and to provide public awareness of indigenous culture.
Deputy mayor Greg Warren presented the prize to Dylan at a full-school assembly last Thursday.
``It was my privilege to go to the school and meet a fantastic young bloke who achieved such a fantastic result not just for the school but for the local community,'' he said.
Entries (poems or short stories) were judged by a panel including Aboriginal elders, agency delegates, Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan and other community members.
