JAN 25: DONATIONS TOTALLED $11,486 KEEP THEM COMING!!Saturday, February 6, is the date to whip out those flippers, goggles and floaties and swim for a cure for cystic fibrosis.
The second annual 65km Swim for Cystic Fibrosis, organised by the Advertiser, will be held at Wollondilly Community Leisure Centre to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis NSW.
More than 80 people in Macarthur live with the life-threatening condition which has no cure and can cut young lives very short.
Organiser Michelle Fenech said this year's swim raised more than $36,000 and hundreds of people took part.
''We hope February's event will be just as successful,'' she said. ''We will raise money through swim sponsorship, a raffle, auction, barbecue, novelty relay, face painting and a cake stall.''
On the day individuals can swim laps towards the total 65-kilometre target or teams can swim 65 kilometres on their own.
''This year we had kids with floaties, and adults with flippers and all sorts of floating devices to get up and down the pool,'' Miss Fenech said.
Swimmers and sponsors are needed.
