A FAMILY left devastated when their two dogs went missing after the car they were travelling in crashed has been reunited with their much-loved pets.
The Greenwood family from Leppington spent several days after the January 25 crash on Denham Court Road searching for their crossbreed labrador and their ridgeback named Jess.
The labrador was found an hour later.
But brothers Dylan, 10, and Cameron 7, despaired when Jess couldn't be found and their grandmother, Narelle Donnelly, enlisted the Advertiser's help.
Mrs Donnelly, from Catherine Field, called on readers who may have spotted the dog who wears a purple collar to contact the family.
But by Wednesday night two days after the accident Jess was found by Mrs Donnelly's son, Paul Greenwood.
``Paul had been looking night after night and then that night he couldn't even eat his dinner knowing Jess was still out there somewhere,'' Mrs Donnelly said.
``She was sitting on the side of Camden Valley Way about two kilometres from their home.
``The family were so upset earlier in the week. They feel grateful to have her back.''
