PEOPLE interested in all things old will delight in this year's Camden Antique Fair.
The three-day event, which starts this Friday, will exhibit the wares of antique dealers from across Sydney and from as far as the Snowy Mountains and Cootamundra.
``Some people just love antiques and they come from miles away to visit the fair,'' said the event's publicity officer, Pat McDonall.
It attracts hundreds of visitors every year.
Hosted by Quota International of Camden, the Antique Fair has raised more than $300,000 for local charities since it started in 1986.
This year, the club will donate the proceeds to Carrington Centennial Care for its Grasmere Hostel Project, the SES and the Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital at Thirlmere.
``We have 28 antique dealers who have everything from furniture, jewellery, linen and lace, porcelain, fine china, figurines and collectables,'' Mrs McDonall said.
Kate and Pam McNamara, of Kirkham, will exhibit pieces from their antique furniture collection at the fair for the first time.
The mother-and-daughter team source Victorian furniture more than 100 years old from Australia and around the world for clients.
The fair will open on Friday at 6.30pm at Camden Civic Centre. Entry is $12 (including light supper). The doors will open at 10am on Saturday and Sunday. Entry is $6.
Lawson's auction house staff will give verbal appraisals of items during the weekend. Cost: $3 (per item, limit two).
