Dart West Developments property general manager David Taylor said almost half of the lots released on December 3 had been sold.

"We had 85 lots to sell and we sold 27 on the weekend," Mr Taylor said.

He told the Advertiser last week another five had been sold since the lots were released.

"The response exceeded our expectations; we were a little cautious, to be honest," he said.

"People were buying the more affordable lots and people were buying the medium-priced blocks.

"There was a good response to the mix of block sizes and prices."

Mr Taylor said this was the fifth land release at Gregory Hills in 18 months.

"Of the first, second and third releases, there are 290 lots and 288 lots have been sold," he said.

"The fourth release is still in train. We brought the fifth release up to get the Christmas rush. We knew we had some people waiting to buy."

The first land was released at Gregory Hills about 18 months ago. There are now about 30 homes occupied and another 50 that are nearly ready.
