IF YOU ring Fred and Margaret Blake from The Oaks, you'll probably get the engaged signal.
Mr and Mrs Blake are making regular calls to vote for their grandson, James Johnston, who's a contestant in the Australian Idol TV series.
James, 18, has made the top seven in the competition, and his grandparents say they couldn't be prouder. They're as proud as Punch.
``He's a very good boy and has been singing since he was three,'' Mrs Blake said. ``He wanted to go on Idol last year, but his dad wouldn't let him because he was still at school.
``So he finished his HSC and did very well. Now he's on the show.''
Mr and Mrs Blake went to Sydney on Sunday, October 4, to see the show live in the studio.
Mr Blake said he was proud, but also sad that James had been in the bottom three a sadness that disappeared when James was ``called out of the bottom three straight away and was safe''.
``It's very nerve-racking, but he's doing very well and we're so proud of him,'' Mr Blake said.
On Sunday night, James Johnston was in the bottom three for the second time, but he'll be in the next round on Sunday, October 18.
