GOLF lovers from all over Macarthur are invited to a shoot-out this Friday to raise money for the Sherry children, whose parents drowned recently.
Golfers can turn up to Campbelltown Golf Club between 5pm and 7pm to compete for $300 in club cash.
It costs $5 to play and golfers can hit three balls to see who gets closest to the pin to win.
The money raised will go to Sherry siblings Monique, 17, Elise, 14, and Nicholas, 9, from Orangeville who watched helpless from South Ballina beach in January as their parents drowned in a strong rip.
Their dad, Joseph Sherry, worked in the kitchen at the golf club.
He drowned trying to rescue his wife, Carole, who swam out to help her children but couldn't make it back to the shore.
Campbelltown Golf Club president Maurice Scott and Gary Hogarth from the club's board of directors, have organised a week of fund-raising for the Sherry children.
Ms Scott said the staff and members wanted to help the children through a tough time.
``It's a chance for people to take part and help to make things a little bit easier for them,'' she said.
``We felt that we'd like to do something because Joe worked at the club and a lot of our staff and members knew him.
``If anybody would like to participate they're most welcome to come along.''
The money raised at the shoot-out will go directly to the family.
The club is at Golf Course Road, Glen Alpine.
