Three men have been charged with stealing over an incident this morning (Friday) at 2am in which thieves were disturbed as they allegedly attempted to steal garden furniture from the front verandah of a house in Grevillea Grove, Narellan Vale.
Camden local area command crime manager Paul Albury told the Camden Advertiser that the thieves were seen to get into a white ute and drive away.
Police patrolling Woolshed Place at Currans Hill a short time later saw a number of large pots containing plants in the tray of a ute matching the description, he said.
``Two male persons appeared to be moving items into the garage of a house in Woolshed Place.''
Police currently searching a house at Woolshed Place have found a large number of pot plants, garden furniture, statues, outdoor retaining wall blocks and tools.
Three men, a Tallong man 21, and two 22-year-old men from Airds and Claymore, have been charged with six counts of stealing.
Detective Inspector Albury said there had been a spate of similar thefts in Harrington Park, Mount Annan, Narellan Vale and Elderslie in recent weeks.
``We are calling upon anybody who has had pots, outdoor furniture, retaining wall blocks, pavers or gardening equipment taken from their homes to contact Camden detectives on 4655 0599,'' he said.
``At this stage we have a large amount of property we are unable to link back to owners. At the same time we have linked a number of items to recent thefts.''
