SPORT across each of the schools involved in the Eat It, Work It, Move It program has reached fever pitch over the past few weeks.
The Macarthur zone dominated the regional cross country championships. The event ran divisions for every age group, for boys and girls aged12 to 18.
The zone (made up of seven schools, six of which run Eat It, Work It, Move It) won every event on the day except three. That is an incredible 11 wins from 14 starts, including a clean sweep of the girls' races.
The students from Camden, Elderslie, Robert Townson, Elizabeth Macarthur, Mount Annan and Thomas Reddall high schools represented the zone with distinction and students from each school will now represent the region at the upcoming Combined High Schools' state carnival.
Airds High, as previously reported, have also joined the program and their girls' knockout volleyball team have won their way through to the state championships after beating Eaglevale, Leumeah, Prairiewood and Thomas Reddall high schools in sudden-death matches.
Airds will play for the Steve Brit Memorial Trophy at Sydney Olympic Park this week.
Netball has again been at the forefront of sport at Camden High this year, with a team of girls travelling to the Gold Coast next week for a national event. Organised by PE teacher Anna Lisa Reeves, the girls have been fund-raising for the past 12 months to support their trip.
Laura Donnelly has been selected in the NSW All Schools' soccer team which will play in Perth next term, while Bridget Mason will play the Combined High Schools' state netball championship at Narrabeen after her selection in the regional team.
